yus, there are lots of icons. I made them for my final exam in the Icons class at DAU, but unfortunately classes are closed so I cannot submit them. But since that is the case, I shall put them here for everyone to see! Picture links and such will be at the bottom, arranged by number. Please do not use any of these icons without permission from me, as I don't remember where all the brushes and such came from, and I don't want anyone to get in trouble for not crediting.

In honor of finishing the "Creating a Character" class on Digital Arts Universirty for the current semester, I'm posting the last three dolls that I had to make for the class.
![]() Base and Lantern by DHF This was my doll for Lesson 9, in which we had to make a doll with a background that fit the setting for our character. Since my character, Eliza, has been in Narnia for the past four years or so, I decided to make a doll of her at one of the most well-known sites in Narnia: Lantern Waste. After finishing the doll and lantern, I decided to make the background have a watercolor-type feel, so I used the GIMP's airbrush tool with varying shades of brown, green and yellow to create the background. ![]() Base same as above This was my first doll for Lesson 10, the Final Exam. This doll is of Eliza trying on her tiara for the first time. She's 17 years old here, and her wedding to Corin, the younger Prince of Archenland, is coming up in a few weeks (taking place at Midsummer). Since this isn't exactly a "special event" I didn't want to make Eliza's gown too intricate; this was just another of the many preparations for the wedding. ![]() Base by PPKH This is the other doll for the final exam, a sprite-sized doll. This is actually the first doll of Eliza that hasn't been on a DHF or Eleni Aranelwa base, so it was a good experience for me. This is Eliza in her sleeping clothing from before she bets transported to Narnia, and as I said on DAU, this could very well be what she was wearing when she first got sucked into Narnia. No CC please, I've already been graded on them and I really like them as they are. However, comments and praise (if you have any for these dolls) are greatly appreciated. It took me a long time to decide exactly what to do with these dolls.

A bit of explanation, first...
I got a new job! I've actually had it for a while, but forgot to post about it. Some of you may remember that I was working in the Entomology department here at Auburn, but I lost that job at the beginning of the semester because I didn't go in on the first day back from break (nobody ever told me I had to). So I went to the Work Study office, and now I'm working in a brand new department! I work in the Consumer Affairs department of the College of Human Sciences, which covers interior design, apparel design and apparel merchandising. Every time I go to work I get to see what kinds of clothes and interior spaces the students are designing; it's actually quite inspiring! I just saw a sketch for a blazer and skirt that I can't wait to try and doll. And I was making copies of a daily fashion newspaper today for one of the professors and got to see all sorts of new styles for Fall 2007! So does anyone else get inspiration from strange or unusual places?

First the doll itself, then the gift:
![]() ![]() Base: DHF Tis me!!! I don't actually own that dress, but I wish I did. I found a picture online a loooong time ago of a dress like this to use as inspiration for the 50's Prom dress-up ball (only difference is that the dress in the photo is black with pink ribbon). I didn't use it then, but I remembered that I still had the photo saved, so I used it as inspiration for this doll, my entry into the Individual Contest for the Valentine's Dance over at DAU. And in the same spirit as Christmas, I used my DAU contest entry as my gift. XDD Feel free to take it if you do desire; everyone deserves love and chocolate this time of year! I'll take CC for future reference, as I quite like the doll and don't want to change anything at the moment.

More dolls of Eliza for DAU homework.
![]() Base: Eleni Aranelwa This doll comes before my first one in Eliza's history; this is her in her school uniform. It was inpired by a picture, but the picture showed a younger girl wearing a shin-length jumper, and I wanted Eliza's to be a bit different. This doll makes the length of her hair a bit more evident, even if the braid (yes that's a braid) isn't very good. ![]() Base: DHF A formal dress for Eliza, for when she is older and returns to Archenland for the first time since she arrived there four years before (making her 16 in this doll). On her head is a renaissance-style hair net with pearls, and she is holding a handkerchief in her hands, because she is a little nervous to be seeing Prince Corin again after four years. The sleeves aren't all that great, because I've never really done sleeves like that before, but I like pretty much everything else. No CC unless something is really bugging you, as this has already been submitted for grading. |
