So, a few people have been asking me for my dollmaker script that I used on my collaborative dollmaker project. I have modified it slightly and packaged it so that people can use it to make their own dollmakers. Now it's finally released on my site!

It's main features are:
  • Easy to update with PHP. Just put stuff into the right folders and you're done! (though if you don't have php you can still use it, just it's. . . not as easy to update)
  • Tabs for different categories of props (clothes, hair, etc) - for better organization and minimal scrolling
  • Changeable base body - you can have as many skintones as you want
  • The last thing you dragged goes to the top - so you don't get frustrated by the inability of certain clothes to go on top of others.

Now go download it at http://minidollz.ninique.net/code and make some pretty dollmakers!

Myeah. When the polka dot random challenge was announced I got the idea of remaking an old doll of mine that I had never actually finished (the doll from my mspaint pattern tutorial). I wasn't able to make it to the deadline because the time the contest was at was inconvenient for me. BUT, I decided to make the doll anyway. And I took the opportunity to try out ILCK's new Cora base (since the original was made on an old version of Cora)

Ok so I'm participating in BOTR (http://battleoftheraces.webs.com/). I usually ignore pageants, but when I saw the theme I couldn't resist.

So I've been working on my entry for the past week or so:

Bases: Portrait is by ILCK, full doll is by Duckie

I'm really proud of her, especially the base/face edit. I don't usually make faces from scratch, and usually just go in and modify what's already there to my own needs, but I really disliked the face on Duckie's base and I needed them to look like the same person.

I'm also reallly happy with how I did the hair. . . but I'm having so much trouble duplicating the same kind of hair on the portrait base. . . I must have made at least 10 sketches or something and I still can't get it to look right. But. . . I guess I'll get it eventually. I'll update when I finish the whole thing

EDIT: I'm finally finished!

I think I'm well due for a new av. The one I was using previously is from the 2007 TG yearbook lol.

The base is exclusive to the Glam! forum.

When posting my Tulia base, I mentioned that she was for a basemaking tutorial. Well I just put it up! cute.gif

This is the way I make my bases, using MS Paint, a scanner and some pencils/paper . You can read it here:

PS: If anyone has good links about body proportions that I could add to the tut, please post them.
